 Responsibilities of the Research Associate:

  • Culture of mammalian cells (BSL1, BSL2)
  • Performing R&D bioassays, ELISAs, western blots and flow cytometry assays using established protocols
  • Assisting with R&D assay development under supervision
  • Writing sample analysis reports and lab reports
  • Communicating with clients on a variety of topics
  • Cell culture laboratory maintenance including autoclaving disposables, cleaning incubators, cleaning water baths, biosafety cabinet decontamination, growth media preparation, bleach and alcohol solution preparation, lab supply inventory

 

Requirements of the Research Associate:

  • B.A./B.S. in biology, chemistry or an associated field of study
  • 1-3 years experience with mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, and Western blotting
  • A basic understanding of concepts involved in bioassays, western blotting, flow cytometry and ELISAs is a plus
