The primary responsibility of the Scientist will be development and characterization of novel, non-vacuum based chemical methods for engineering nano-scale defects in ceramic films. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to develop novel processes and laboratory-scale equipment and a thorough knowledge of ceramic film deposition, processing and characterization.
Specific responsibilities include: Development of chemical routes for enhancing the performance of solution-deposited HTS films Development of nano-scale engineering techniques for solution-based ceramic films Hands-on processing and characterization of ceramic films Work in cross-functional team to transfer of laboratory processes to a pilot-scale manufacturing line
Experience/Education: Qualified candidates will have a PhD in Material Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering 3+ years experience in the chemical deposition and characterization of ceramic films Experience with inorganic material synthesis, nano-particle synthesis, solution-based ceramic film deposition techniques, and chemical property characterization is desired. Excellent written and oral communication skills A demonstrated track record of a systematic approach to problem solving is critical. The candidate should also have strong interpersonal and technical management skills. |
