Scientist

Support the application of nucleic acid based approaches in Pharmacogenomics studies, particularly HLA targeted and human MHC region genotyping. The successful candidate will be expected to develop, improve and validate different methods/platforms to generate HLA genotyping data using a range of technologies, such as Luminex IS200, capillary sequencing and next-generation amplicon sequencing. He/she is also responsible for analyzing, documenting and reporting data with challenging timelines. This position will have an opportunity to work closely with different groups from diverse background to identify genetic factors underlying inter-individual variations in drug response.

SKILLS

Minimum of 3 years experience in molecular genetics or related area is required. He/she is expected to have good understanding of the complexity of HLA genotyping. He/she should be proficient in general molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, and DNA preparation. Experience with SNP genotyping and sequencing is required. Experience with HLA genotyping or Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is desired. Previous work experience in a GLP/CLIA quality controlled environment would be advantageous. Excellent organization skills, ability to adapt to new technologies and work in a high-throughput and challenging environment with a multidisciplinary team are essential.

EDUCATION

BS/MS or with 3-6 years of research experience, academic or industry
