Responsibilities of the Associate Director, AAV:

  • Lead the AAV and lentiviral purification process development team.
  • Oversee bioreactor production of mammalian cell culture processes of CHO and HEK293 cell lines.
  • Evaluate novel technologies to improve existing AAV purification processes.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with other departments to ensure timelines for in-house vector production and tech transfer.
  • Write and review protocols, SOPs, and technical report
  • Present data to internal team and external partners
  • Recruit a team of associates and scientists to train and scale up processes

Requirements of the Associate Director, AAV:

  • MS/BS with 10+ years or PhD with 5+ years experience in process development lab environment working with viral vectors and/or mammalian cell systems.
  • In depth understanding of upstream processes and bioreactors.
  • Expertise in AAV and or Lentiviral production
  • Hands on experience with viral vector purification processes, chromatography, and separation strategies.
  • Must be ok working in a small team environment as an individual contributor, with the desire to build out their own team for production.
