Director of Manufacturing

Responsibilities of the Director of Manufacturing:

  • Ensure timely execution of product manufacturing according to established quality standards across all manufacturing workflows including antibody purification and conjugation procedures, buffer formulation, bulk reagent formulation, vial and bottle fill/cap/label and final kitting operations
  • Assess manufacturing capacity requirements on an ongoing basis, resource people and equipment as needed
  • Lead cross functionally to drive continuous improvement
  • Champion development, and learning throughout organization
  • Ensure compliance for all equipment and process calibration and preventive maintenance
  • Utilize ERP system expertise to drive continuous improvement for accuracy, quality, and scalability across all manufacturing and planning modules.
  • Interact with Assay Development and Program Management on New Product Introductions; participate on project teams and in product design and technical reviews
  • Develop and implement process for custom product manufacturing and kitting
  • Manage cost center and capital budgets, including inventory control and cycle count. Maintain timely and accurate work order transactions.
  • Drive cost savings and cost reduction programs through improved process controls, automation, and improved material utilization
  • Recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development of manufacturing personnel

Requirements of the Director of Manufacturing:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related Life Sciences
  • 15+ years of experience with immunoassay manufacturing operations required; experience with protein conjugations and chromatography preferred
  • 10+ years of experience leading and managing high performing teams in a manufacturing operations setting
  • Lean six sigma green belt, black belt or equivalent training preferred
