Research Associate, Cell Culture

Responsibilities of the Research Associate, Cell Culture:

  • Maintenance of a wide variety of mammalian cell lines including sterility testing, banking, record keeping and inventory control using a record keeping software platform.
  • Mycoplasma and endotoxin testing of cell cultures.
  • Organization and communication skills are essential.
  • Development and execution of ELISA assays (e.g. MSD), gel electrophoresis, Western blot and other project-specific assays, as necessary.
  • Genetic manipulation of cells (electroporation, transfection).
  • Good understanding of gene editing tools and principles (ZFN, TALEN, CRISPR or DNA base editors).
  • Basic knowledge of gene delivery techniques such as lentivirus, AAV and non-viral delivery technologies such as LNP.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, data analysis, and visualization tools such as GraphPad/Prism.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of experiments in an electronic notebook.

Requirements of the Research Associate, Cell Culture:

  • BS/MS in biological science with at least 1+ years of academic or industrial research experience.
  • Must have experience with tissue culture and cell based assays.
  • Attention to detail, critical analysis of data and ability to troubleshoot
