Scientist – Hematopoietic Stem Cell

Position located in Rochester, MN
Responsibilities of the Scientist – Hematopoietic Stem Cell:
- Designs and performs technically challenging in vivo and in vitro experiment.
- Work closely with a multi-function team to develop a robust cell therapy platform.
- Generate engineered cell lines by designing and executing genetic editing strategies in mammalian cell lines via lentiviral vectors, CRISPR, or other novel editing platforms.
- Collaborate with other team members to advance cross-functional scientific projects and standardize adoption of new scientific techniques.
Requirements of the Scientist – Hematopoietic Stem Cell:
- PhD or Master degree in biological sciences such as cell biology, biomedical engineering, molecular biology, genetics or related fields.
- At least 1-2 years’ rigorous experience with Hematopoietic stem cell differentiation or iPSC reprogramming and/or differentiation methods, cell transfection, lentiviral transduction etc.
- Must be proficient in molecular cloning.
- Must have hand-on experience with gene editing e.g. CRISPR, TALEN etc.
- Proficient in multicolor flow cytometry.
- Ability to plan, organize, and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization.
