Senior Research Associate, Antibody Discovery

Responsibilities of the Senior Research Associate, Antibody Discovery:

  • Design and construct antibody libraries
  • Manage and conduct yeast display campaigns to identify and optimize antibodies with desired properties
  • Characterize antibody clones using techniques such as flow cytometry
  • Collect and analyze data from selections and present findings in group and project team meetings
  • Design and clone mammalian expression constructs for antibodies including using Benchling for sequence verification, storage, and notebook entries.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to technology and antibody discovery platform development
  • Document work in a timely fashion in electronic lab notebook

Requirements of the Senior Research Associate, Antibody Discovery:

  • BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, protein chemistry or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting
  • Experience in antibody discovery, e.g. engineering, expression, and/or characterization of antibodies and proteins in general
  • Expertise in molecular biology and molecular biology concepts, e.g. primer design, PCR, Gibson assembly, and bacterial transformation
  • Experience with phage or yeast display strongly preferred
  • Experience with protein expression systems (bacterial and mammalian e.g. CHO and HEK) beneficial but not required
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to independently execute against goals
