Position located in Cambridge, MA

Responsibilities of the Sr. Scientist – Bioinformatics:

• Develop computational tools to design and select UTR sequences to improve the expression level and stability of mRNAs, for example, through machine learning or secondary structure engineering.
• Develop algorithms to optimize coding sequence of target genes.
• Identify candidate enzymes from microbial genomic database to facilitate mRNA production and modification process development.
• Rational design of mutations to improve the performance of tool enzymes.
• Develop computational pipelines to analyze high throughput screening data which may involve single cell sequencing analysis.
• Build analytical infrastructure to support wet lab scientists on data analysis which may involve imaging analysis.

Requirements of the Sr. Scientist – Bioinformatics:

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field, with 5+ years industry experience.
• Proven expertise in mRNA biology, or single-cell RNA sequencing (RNAseq), with a track record of handling and analyzing large-scale datasets.
• Strong programming skills in various computer languages and experience with database management.
• Experience with machine learning approaches and their application to biological problems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience leading teams and managing stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment, and to provide strategic direction to the team.
