Position located in Boulder, MA

Responsibilities of the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Will perform conceptual design of small hand held surgical devices and manage engineering projects including design changes, cost reduction, and remediation.
• Design and develop components and subassemblies used in durable and consumable equipment designed by Ivenix / Fresenius Kabi.
• Design and develop processes, tools, or fixtures for assembling and testing products.
• Build and test prototypes to verify design function.
• Establish and perform DoE to assess and characterize new solutions and designs.
• Generate GD&T drawings identifying critical dimensions according to tolerance stack up analysis and manufacturing process capabilities.
• Collaborates with peers to manage the development of appropriate testing to verify product meets internal and external customer requirements.

Requirements of the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer:

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience as a mechanical design engineer within the MedTech industry.
• Experience designing complex electro-mechanical assemblies in SolidWorks.
• Experience in selecting appropriate materials and fabrication methods based on engineering requirements.
• Experience with machined parts and injection molded part design required.
