Position located in Waltham, MA

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed inventory audits of cryopreserved biological samples stored across multiple freezer locations, including shelves, racks, boxes, and individual vial positions.
• Retrieve and return sample containers while maintaining cold-chain conditions using dry ice and established handling procedures.
• Verify sample identity by scanning barcodes and reconciling physical inventory with Benchling, LIMS, or other electronic sample tracking systems.
• Update and confirm accurate storage location information, including freezer, rack, shelf, box, and vial position, within the inventory database.
• Identify and document inventory discrepancies such as missing, mislabeled, or incorrectly located samples, escalating exceptions as appropriate.
• Preserve sample integrity and maintain complete chain-of-custody throughout all handling and inventory activities.
• Accession clinical specimens, biofluids, and cell-based samples into electronic laboratory management systems as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory documentation, including daily progress updates, exception tracking, and completion reports.
• Follow established SOPs and safety procedures related to biosafety, PPE requirements, and freezer operations.

Requirements:

• 1–3+ years of experience in a laboratory, biobank, sample management, or other regulated operational environment.
• Hands-on experience handling biological specimens while adhering to applicable biosafety practices.
• Working knowledge of cold-chain sample management and electronic inventory systems such as LIMS or Benchling.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to reconcile records and identify inconsistencies.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining accurate, traceable records.
