Associate Scientist (Molecular Biology)

Position located in Rochester, MN

 

Responsibilities of the Associate Scientist (Molecular Biology):

  • Develop, optimize, and validate molecular biology methods for gene and cell therapy applications (e.g., VCN, gene editing proficiency, genomic titer, RCL, residual DNA).
  • Perform molecular cloning, DNA plasmid purification, and in vitro transcription to generate assay controls.
  • Design, execute, and analyze digital PCR (dPCR) and qPCR assays using QIAGEN QIAcuity systems.
  • Support assay development through CRISPR-based screen optimization and molecular assay validation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support QC testing and contract research service projects.

 

Requirements of the Associate Scientist (Molecular Biology):

  • PhD (1+ year industry) or MSc (3+ years industry).
  • Strong experience with digital PCR (dPCR – QIAGEN QIAcuity).
  • Demonstrated expertise in molecular cloning.
  • Proven experience developing and validating dPCR and qPCR assays.
  • Familiarity with lentivirus or retrovirus systems and mammalian cell lines.
